The Garden on the Coastal Barrens

This avid gardener created his landscape by pushing back the native vegetation and granite boulders to the edges of his property. We then laid out gently sloping lawns, shrub and perennial borders and paths with the intention that it maintained its natural feel. The strategic placement of hardy woody plants helped to develop a warm microclimate that protected much of the garden from the coastal winds. Paths to the ocean were created through the wooded area.
